Mother's Day...Belated

I have decided that I can write about things late, because well, damnit! I do what I want!

Oh, and I dont have regular readers, so it all works out.

I just have to say that I love my mommy everyday and not just on Mother's Day. I don't just love her because she didn't abandon me after I stretched out her vagina with my head, but because she is my friend and an incredible lady!

I love you Mom!

Friends and jabber

Some of the best friends I have are some of the friends I talk the least frequently with. I was thinking about this and have decided that it is so strange!

I have realized the people that I get along with the best don't need everyday attention to keep up our friendship. We can not talk for years and come back to exactly where we were before!

This is not to say that I don't have close friends that I speak to everyday...I do! I just wonder if I am a bad friend who doesn't always prioritize my friends well......

I don't know...just jabbering.

I went to Boise this weekend for Kent's Birthday and Mother's Day. It was so great to see the fam. I always get a little sad when I see everyone with there families and I am all alone, but then the joy of a million screaming kids drowns out that pain! he he

We had a pool party at the Hilton. The kids loved it! I didn't swim. I would never make anyone look at me in a bathing suit. How is it that I look better naked than in a bathing suit? Strange. I have even lost 40 pounds since December (YAYAYAYAY) and I still feel disgusting in a bathing suit. Shouldn't I look like a supermodel now?

Anyway, we had a pool party and everyone came except Kylah. She was with her dad. Bastard! Stealing my niece! Just kidding....not about the bastard part, but about the reason for feeling that he is an enema bag.

I know use enema bag instead of douche bag, because according to a Mormon friend of mine, douche bag is a bad word(s). I am sure he will enjoy my new phrase much better!

I met up with Dustin Saturday night. I was late, so I didn't get to touch Jared's arms. He was already gone. FML! I get to touch Mitch's boobs and that was pretty fulfilling. He had full handfuls and they were all muscles! Yum Yum.

I forgot how much I love Dustin! Loads of fun...thanks buddy!

I wish I could have seen more people in Boise, but those quick trips make it almost impossible.

Ummm...well this has been a dribble of ooze and crap...

Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life Edited by Bryan Curtis

Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life is a relaxing compilation of quotes focused on bringing inspiration and a positive attitude into the stressed workers life. The book contains quotes from a number of people from all backgrounds and ideologies. It is a refreshing take on something all of us, no matter what background, can relate to: the issue of balancing work and personal happiness.

The book really made me realize that I am not alone in my frustrations or struggles that are associated with work and career. The compilation brought touching, inspiring, entertaining, and downright hilarious bits of advice to the reader. It is easy to read and can be put down and picked back up with no struggle or added stress. I think the book really focuses on a key point....reduce stress and it is put together in a way that reinforces that goal for the reader. I would recommend this book to any stressed out individual...so to all people really.

I was with a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through BookSneeze.com in exchange for my review of this book.

New Healthy Choice Frozen meals

So, I know that frozen meals are not the healthiest choice, but lately I have been so busy and cooking for one is hard! So I eat them more often than I should.

Lately, I have been really liking the new Healthy Choice meals. They have quite a few vegetarian entrees in the All Natural Entrees. There are no preservatives in these meals! They also package the meal with the food triangle in mind.

I know...rationalizing bad behavior.

But they actually taste pretty good! Today I had Sweet Asian Potstickers!

"After the Hangover" by R. Emmett Tyrell Jr.

Thomas Nelson (through Booksneeze.com) provided me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for the following review.

"After the Hangover" is a political book that supposedly provides insight on how the conservative political movement can come back into power. While I do not consider myself conservative, I am always very interested and excited about a person's political ideas and insights. I was not excited, however, by the presentation of Tyrell's political ideas.

The book had a us against them attitude. It discusses very rarely the mistakes made by the Republican party and blames everything on liberals. I felt the whole book was combative and accusationary. This writing style alone really shut me off to a lot of his ideas.

I did enjoy his Sarah Palin bashing, but anyone who knows me, knows that I was offended by the choice of Sarah Palin as a VP candidate.

If you like Rush Limbaugh (I don't btw), then this is the book for you. I think if it had scavanged even a bit of objectivity, I could have learned or gotten something from it. Unfortunately it didnt.

    My Diary

It is always suggested to log your progress in a diary when you are trying to lose weight. This is my version of a log of my progress on my goal. I thought a public log would motivate me more and help me find support. This project is not about losing weight (although I suspect and hope that weight loss will be a side effect). It is about living life the way I have always wanted to: Healthy, Active, and Happy!

The Goal

I realized while talking to my uncle John that I am living someone else's life. That changes today. The next 365 days will be devoted to becoming myself again.

The Goals:

Decrease my overall ecological footprint.

Focus on healthy nutrition and eating habits.

Eat locally and in season.

Only eat meat when necessary in social situations. Fish is still on the ok list.

Exercise daily.

Take care of myself; I am important!

No more complacency. It doesn't start tommorrow; it starts right now.
